FAQ
Questions
What is HutAlerts?
A date finder and bed alerts for the Tour du Mont Blanc. We read the official availability calendar of montourdumontblanc.com, show which start dates have a bed every night for your group, and tell you when a full night gets a free bed again.
Is it the official site?
No. HutAlerts is independent and not affiliated with the Association des Gardiens du Tour du Mont-Blanc or montourdumontblanc.com. You always book on the official site.
Do you book or hold beds for me?
Never. We can only tell you fast. Whoever books first gets the bed.
How often do you check?
About every hour, day and night. Each alert covers every opening found in that check.
Which huts are covered?
The 44 huts and gîtes bookable on montourdumontblanc.com. Huts that take bookings themselves, such as Rifugio Bonatti or Refuge du Lac Blanc, are not covered.
What does it cost?
The finder and hut pages are free. A free alert watches one night. A trip alert watches up to 14 nights until your last night, for €12 once. No subscription.
Will I get a bed?
We can't promise one. Beds come back when people cancel, and full nights stay full if nobody does. We make sure you hear about it quickly when they do.
Does it handle groups?
Yes. Set your group size and you only get alerts when a hut shows at least that many free beds.
How do notifications work on iPhone?
Apple only allows web notifications for sites added to the Home Screen: open HutAlerts in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, and turn notifications on from there. Email alerts work everywhere.
Can I change or stop my alert?
Yes, any time, from the private link in your emails or on your confirmation screen. You can also mark a night as booked so we stop watching it.
Refunds?
If you change your mind within 14 days of paying and we haven't sent you an alert yet, write to support@ridgework.org for a full refund.
What data do you keep?
Your email and/or browser notification address (both encrypted), the nights, huts and group size you watch, and whether you paid. We delete it 30 days after your last night, or immediately when you delete your alert.
Who runs HutAlerts?
