How to book the TMB huts for 2027

Bookings for the 2027 season opened on 15 October 2026 on montourdumontblanc.com, the platform run by the Association des Gardiens du Tour du Mont-Blanc. Two weeks later, 41% of July–August hut-nights were already full. Here is how to work with that.

1. Know what the platform covers

The platform lists 44 huts and gîtes along the tour, each with a day-by-day calendar: beds available (with a count), fully booked, or closed. You book and pay each hut there. Some well-known huts, such as Rifugio Bonatti, Rifugio Elisabetta, Refuge de la Croix du Bonhomme and Refuge du Lac Blanc, are not on it and take bookings themselves.

2. Lock the scarcest stops first

Build your trip around the nights that are hardest to get. On 29 October 2026, for July–August 2027:

AreaNights fullShare
Les Chapieux / Les Mottets176 of 18695%
Trient205 of 24883%
Courmayeur - Val Ferret188 of 31061%
Les Contamines-Montjoie180 of 40644%
Courmayeur - Val Veny69 of 22331%
La Fouly139 of 47529%

3. Move the start date, not the whole trip

Because every night depends on the one before, shifting your start by a day or two, or walking clockwise instead, often turns a full night into a free one. The date finder checks every start date of a month in one go.

4. Know the cancellation rules

Under the platform's terms of sale, individual hikers who cancel more than 30 days before arrival get 80% back; within 30 days, nothing. For agencies and guides the cut-off is 60 days. That's why beds keep coming back, especially in the weeks before those cut-offs.

5. Watch the full nights

A freed bed goes to whoever sees it first. HutAlerts checks the calendar about every hour and tells you by email or notification when one of your huts has enough beds for your group, with a direct link to book.

6. Give back what you won't use

If your plans change, cancel early: you keep 80%, and someone else gets the bed.
