How it works

  1. Pick a hut and the full nights you need, for your group size. Add more huts for a tour, like the Haute Route.
  2. We check each hut's calendar on hut-reservation.org about every hour.
  3. A bed frees up when someone cancels. You get an email (or a notification) with a link to book it there.

Questions

Is HutAlerts the official booking site?

No. HutAlerts is independent. We read the public hut calendars on hut-reservation.org, the booking system the Alpine clubs share, and send you there to book.

Which huts can I watch?

The 560 huts that take online bookings on hut-reservation.org, from the Swiss, German, Austrian and South Tyrol Alpine clubs and a few partner clubs. Huts that don't take online bookings there, such as the Hörnli hut on the Matterhorn, are not covered.

Do you book or hold beds for me?

Never. When a bed comes back, your alert links straight to the hut on hut-reservation.org, and whoever books first gets it.

How fast are alerts?

We check the calendar of every hut with a live alert about every hour, day and night, and message you as soon as it shows enough beds for your group.

What does it cost?

A free alert watches one night at one or more huts. A trip alert watches up to 14 nights at up to 8 huts until your trip, for €12 once.

The hut has a waiting list. Do I still need this?

Some huts run a waiting list on hut-reservation.org. If yours does, join it as well. An alert also covers huts without one, and it can watch several huts for the same night.
